♦The annual congregational meeting will be held immediately following the 11 a.m. morning worship service on Sunday, December 7, 2008, for the purpose of electing Elders, Deacons and Trustees. We will also elect a nominating committee, receive the 2009 projected budget, approve changes in Pastor Loveless' terms of call and discuss any other items of business related to the life and work of our church.
♦The Deacons are sponsoring our 4th Annual Cookie Walk on Sunday, December 7. Whether you like to eat them, bake them, or both, we need your help. Please donate a batch of 4 dozen home-baked cookies on December 7. Then anyone may purchase a container in Fellowship Hall and walk around filling it with all kinds of delicious cookies. You do not have to bake cookies to take cookies. Please join us for this yummy festive event. Call Lori Hrinko, 410-441-4589, with questions. Proceeds this year will go to Isaiah Smith and his medical expenses.
♦Our children and youth will present “The Christmas Tree” on Sunday, December 21, at 11 a.m. Practice is on Saturday, December 20, from 2-4 p.m. Parents, please encourage your children to experience this beautiful tradition.
♦There are still pewter ornaments on sale for $10 from the 175th anniversary, as well as cookbooks, stationery, directories and historical booklets. ♦The EPC Men’s group would like to invite all men of our Church to join us for breakfast & fellowship on Saturday, December 13th at 8:00 AM in Fellowship Hall.
We will be having a guest speaker, Brooke Rollins, talk to us about his international travels with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes organization. Brooke will be showing a power point of his travels to several countries and his experiences in bringing the message of Jesus Christ to “World Athletes”.
♦Christmas Poinsettias – If you are interested in donating either a white or red poinsettia in Memory of or in Honor of loved ones, there is a sign-up sheet on the welcome table. The cost is $10.50 each. Deadline for ordering is December 14. All Memorials and Honors will be listed in the Christmas bulletins.
♦Hanging of the Greens - We would like everyone, Mom, Dad, all the kids, and everyone in the church to participate in the decorating of the sanctuary in preparation for Christmas Eve services. The decorating takes place on December 6th, 2008. The schedule of events that will take place that day. Noon-3PM Gather to make the wreaths, swags, and bows for church and shut ins at Dale Collin’s house, 130 Irwin Rd, Elkton, MD.
3PM-5 or 5:30 We all decorate the Sanctuary and Tree. There will also be a new Nativity Scene for this year to set up outside. If decorating is not your forte, but you will be baking some sort of cookie for the cookie walk, the next day, feel free to come in and do your baking, as well as participating in everything else.
At 5:30 or so we will have a Potluck dinner. Meat and drinks will be provided.
Also, new this year, please join us for some caroling outside in front of the church. You can be there for the whole thing or just part of it.
